Chained Anchors

This is an advanced NLP technique and must be done correctly to be effective.

It will help you to chain a negative feeling to a good feeling. So that every time you feel negative you actually move into the good feeling automatically.

For example from laziness to motivation is not a sudden jump. You might need to first feel disgusted with your laziness then angry and then determined and then finally motivated. So there might be 3 or 4 or even 5 stages you would usually pass through to get to motivation.

However this could take a reeeealy long time. So we anchor each one of these separately and fire them off in a chain. Which means, after anchoring all of these states separately, we fire off laziness, as laziness is rising we fire off disgust, as disgust is rising we fire off anger, as anger is rising we fire off determination and as determination is rising we fire off motivation.

Then the work is done.

There are many ways to anchor, here I will discuss anchoring by colour because I’m making this post primarily to help out my friend who has a skin condition and is unable to use touch anchors.

EXERCISE

First determine the various stages you need to move through in order to get from your bad feeling to your good feeling.

Number the stages according to order and then write the stages down on a piece of paper, now write a distinct colour that you would associate with each of the states next to the states. Then anchor them sequentially as follows and do it for all stages separately.

Please read it through the instructions below fully before you practice it.

  1. Choose any of the states and mentally note the colour
  2. Think of a time when you had experienced this state, see what you saw, hear what you heard, feel what you felt then and as the feeling rises anchor it to the associated colour by imagining yourself awash in light of that colour. Hold this imagery for about 5 seconds
  3. Break your state
  4. Test the anchor by imagining yourself awash in the colour. You should feel the state rising. If not repeat the steps and test again.

Once you have anchored all the stages separately fire them off in sequence one by one. Take care to fire the subsequent one when the present one is on a rise and not when it is falling.

Now it will be quite impossible for you to feel the negative state of mind because you’ll immediately and automatically be transported to the positive state. Try to feel bad and test it :)
